Summary
We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer with deep expertise in .NET technologies to join our team. In this role, you will lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance solutions that enhance and expand our core applications. As a senior technical leader, you bring extensive hands-on experience, a solid architectural mindset, and the ability to influence engineering direction across the organization.
You will be a key driver in shaping engineering standards, mentoring team members, solving complex challenges, and contributing to strategic technical initiatives. This role requires both technical excellence and strong leadership skills to guide teams toward successful delivery.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
Experience
- 8+ years of experience designing and building software applications.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience developing with .NET technologies.
Skills
- Experience in programming languages and frameworks (e.g., .NET, C#, Entity Framework).
- Experience with REST APIs. As the main project is to develop a new public API, we require someone with experience in a similar project as a lead developer or tech lead.
- Experience designing and implementing scalable RESTful API architectures with .NET Web API framework
- Strong understanding of REST principles, including proper resource modeling, endpoint naming conventions, and HTTP methods/status codes usage
- Experience with API versioning strategies and backward compatibility considerations
- Proficiency in implementing API authentication and authorization mechanisms (OAuth 2.0, JWT, API keys)
- Experience with API documentation tools and standards (Swagger/OpenAPI, Postman)
- Experience with Cloud Services such as GCP, Azure, or AWS, ideally AWS, as the API's infrastructure will be on AWS.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, GitHub, GitLab).
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
- Strong knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
- Integration and development of APIs (REST, gRPC, GraphQL).
- Solid understanding of unit testing and software quality assurance.
- Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Skilled in implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
- Awareness of application security practices (e.g., OWASP, OAuth).
- Experience optimizing applications for performance, including caching and code tuning.
- Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as GCP, Azure, or AWS.
Nice to have experience
- Experience working with clients in the retirement industry in the US to be familiar with some of the key concepts or processes, or experience with financial services.
