• What do you look for in Senior Software Engineers?

  Aside from years of experience, a senior candidate must be able to communicate the details of the projects he or she has worked on, demonstrate that he or she is capable of adapting and learning quickly, advice on technical decisions and support other team members.
  

• What are good tips for crafting a resume and cover letter that will grab the attention of recruiters at GAP?

  Starting with your professional experience, the information should be detailed and concise — from the most recent to the oldest — including tasks, tools and learning outcomes. It is important to prioritize the quality of the content rather than the format or extension it is presented in.

  Including a cover letter in a job application is not mandatory unless you want to provide additional information about your motivation to apply for the job. However, if you choose to include a cover letter, it's important to make sure that it is customized to the company and the specific job position.

  Finally, pay attention to spelling, grammar and punctuation when writing. This will always make you look professional. 

• How important is it to showcase a personal project's portfolio during the application process?

  For development roles, some clients may like to receive the GitHub link with previous projects — it may be considered a plus — on the other hand, for creative roles such as Graphic Design or UI/UX, it's mandatory to provide a portfolio.

• What role does cultural fit play in the hiring decision for software or data engineering positions at GAP, and how is it assessed during interviews?

  Be yourself. Just be kind and nice. It's okay to be nervous. You can practice a few questions before the interview to see how you answer them and then gain confidence.

  Do a little research about the place you’re applying to. It’s always good to show that you know something general about the company you’re interested in.
  

• What is the level of English I must have to participate in a selection process?

  As part of the selection process and their day-to-day work, our GAPsters must communicate with English-speaking people. It is important that you feel comfortable communicating in English and have an intermediate level of verbal and written communication.

• Do you have jobs for engineers with no experience? / How is the process for an entry-level job handled?

  Sometimes, we receive positions for profiles that do not require experience, but those are not common in our company. To be successful in your interview, explore the tools that are popular in the area you want to develop and their uses. Study theoretical foundations and look for practical examples that can be applied in real life.

• If I don't make it to an interview, can I reapply?

  Of course, talk to your recruiting contact to receive feedback on the areas you should strengthen based on the result of the interview, prepare and practice to carry out a new evaluation.
