Description
A Delivery Manager ensures that different related software projects benefit each other and contribute to the organization's overall business goals.
The Delivery Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing multiple projects within a program for the organization. Orchestrating and optimizing project delivery. Ensuring seamless collaboration among cross-functional teams, and driving the successful execution of software development cycle initiatives.
Required Skills/Responsibilities
Communication
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, QA engineers, product managers, and clients to ensure effective communication and alignment across projects.
- Communicate risk mitigation plans, decisions, and proposals effectively.
- Using correct communication channels.
Negotiation
- Having the ability to understand counterpart motivators by asking key questions.
- Keeping a respectful, balanced, and fact-based negotiation, pursuing win-win results without negatively affecting the project and team health.
- Having the ability to say No and provide good arguments and claims.
Analytical Thinking
- Ability to assess program performance.
- Identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven decisions.
Leadership
- Demonstrated ability to guide teams and drive successful outcomes.
Organizing Program Activities
- Based on the organization’s objectives, the program manager organizes activities to sync the projects in the program to support the goals.
- Work collaboratively with other departments to develop budgets and plans for the program.
Strategic Planning
- Build sustainable long-term goals, and KPIs for program projects.
- The goals contribute to improving organizational efficiencies and overall success.
Monitoring and Assessing Program
- Identify and mitigate potential risks, to prevent project delays or big plan deviations.
- Evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of existing projects in the program.
- Working together with Project/Engineering Managers to monitor progress and address issues to ensure timely delivery.
- Implementation of quality control measures to guarantee the delivery of high-quality software products.
- Manage project budgets, and ensure projects are delivered within financial constraints.
Resource Allocation
- Optimize resource utilization by assigning tasks efficiently, considering team member’s skills and project requirements.
Stakeholders Engagement
- Regularly meeting with stakeholders to discuss program status, goals, and any necessary adjustments.
- Prepare regular status reports, documentation, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Valuable Experience
- At least 8 years of relevant experience in project management of software development projects.
- Strong understanding of software development cycle (SDLC) and industry best practices.
- Proficient in project management tools and methodologies.

- Computer science
- Project Management Degree
