Summary
We are looking for an Advanced QA Automation Engineer to ensure comprehensive test coverage across our web, mobile, and backend systems. This role is critical to preventing production defects, mitigating regression risks, and supporting scalable, high-quality product delivery amidst increasing product complexity and accelerated release cycles. By protecting the customer experience and preventing QA bottlenecks, you will maintain delivery speed and improve overall engineering efficiency. You will leverage automated and manual testing strategies, alongside an AI-first approach, to enhance speed, coverage, and accuracy throughout the software development lifecycle.
Education
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
Professional Experience
• 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with a strong focus on automation engineering
• Proven track record of designing and executing test strategies across UI, backend workflows, and complex integrated systems
• Experience maintaining and executing automated test scripts to validate web and mobile applications
• Demonstrated experience collaborating in product-driven environments to support continuous delivery and a shift-left testing approach
Key Responsibilities
• Develop detailed test plans, test cases, test data, and test suites based on functional and technical requirements
• Design and execute test strategies across UI, backend workflows, and integrated systems
• Create, maintain, and execute automated and manual test scripts to validate new and existing product functionality
• Validate complex system integrations, including Payments, Reporting, and Asynchronous Processes
• Ensure consistent functionality and performance across web, mobile, and administrative platforms
• Analyze test results, identify defects, and report issues through the defect tracking system with clear, reproducible steps, tracking them from identification through resolution
• Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to identify risks early and champion a shift-left testing approach
• Investigate issues to determine root causes and provide detailed, high-quality bug reports
• Contribute to deployment pages and support successful project releases
• Maintain documentation and collect records as objective evidence of software quality and process compliance
• Produce review, audit, and status reports, including weekly updates to QA leadership
• Support continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, and automation coverage
• Apply an AI-first approach across QA planning, test design, automation, defect analysis, documentation, and reporting by leveraging AI tooling to improve speed, coverage, accuracy, and overall software quality
• Perform additional QA-related responsibilities as needed to support business objectives
Required Technical Skills
Strong experience in several of the following areas:
• Programming Languages: Strong programming experience in Java and a solid working knowledge of Python
• Automation Frameworks: Experience with Playwright or similar modern test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Appium, Cypress)
• AI Tooling for QA: Experience with Claude Code, including skills/custom commands, slash-command workflows, context-window management, planning mode, and model/effort selection to drive efficient agentic coding workflows. Familiarity leveraging AI tooling (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT) for test generation and workflow optimization
• API & Platform Testing: Experience with API testing (RESTful services, tools like Postman, REST Assured) and testing across web and mobile platforms
• Data & Performance: Proficiency in SQL and database validation; Experience with performance testing (e.g., Gatling, JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar tools)
• Quality Standards: Knowledge of accessibility testing standards (e.g., WCAG 2.1AA) and tools
• QA Methodology: Deep understanding of the test lifecycle, defect management, shift-left testing, root-cause analysis, and validating asynchronous processes and third-party integrations
Nice to Have
• Experience integrating automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines
• Knowledge of security testing fundamentals
