Summary
We are looking for a Senior Data Quality Specialist to support the hands-on implementation, monitoring, and improvement of data quality controls across critical data domains.
This role is focused on execution and delivery, working closely with Data Governance, Engineering, and business teams to ensure data quality rules are implemented, tuned, monitored, and producing actionable insights.
The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in fast-paced environments where tools are being onboarded and processes are actively evolving.
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Management, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
Professional Experience
5+ years of experience in Data Quality, Data Governance, or Data Management roles.
Hands-on experience implementing and operating data quality checks in production environments using industry-standard tools.
Experience supporting regulated industries with compliance constraints (financial services preferred).
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, tune, and monitor data quality rules and checks across key data domains and cloud/local environments.
Perform data profiling, validation, and anomaly detection to identify data quality issues.
Support onboarding and operational use of data quality tools.
Monitor data quality metrics, thresholds, and KPIs on an ongoing basis.
Investigate data quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and support remediation efforts.
Work closely with Data Governance and business stakeholders to align quality expectations.
Collaborate with data engineering teams to embed quality checks into pipelines.
Support audit and regulatory requirements by providing evidence of data quality controls.
Produce clear reporting on data quality trends, risks, and improvements.
Required Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of data quality dimensions and methodologies.
Advanced SQL for data analysis, validation, and investigation.
Experience with data quality tools or custom validation frameworks.
Understanding of data warehouses, data lakes, and ETL/ELT processes.
Familiarity with financial data controls and regulatory expectations.
Experience using Jira, ServiceNow, or similar tools for issue tracking.
Soft Skills
Advanced English proficiency (written and verbal).
Highly detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
Clear communicator, able to explain issues and findings to technical and business audiences.
Organized and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Execution-focused mindset with strong ownership.
Nice to Have
Python or scripting for automating data quality checks.
Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) for monitoring and reporting.
Exposure to cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
