Summary

We are looking for a Lead QA Automation Engineer with a strong foundation in automation and quality engineering, combined with proven leadership and people development experience. In this hybrid role, you will both lead and participate hands-on in QA activities—building alignment across functional, web, and data QA teams while ensuring consistency, quality, and collaboration.

You will drive QA strategy, oversee automation initiatives, and mentor engineers across distributed teams. Acting as a key partner for engineering, data, and product leads, you will foster a culture of quality, communication, and shared accountability.

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.

Professional Experience

• 8+ years of experience in QA Automation or Quality Engineering.
• 2+ years in a technical leadership or management role, leading QA teams or initiatives.

Leadership & Management Skills

• Experience managing and mentoring QA engineers, providing coaching, feedback, and professional development.
• Proven ability to consolidate and align QA functions across multiple teams or organizations.
• Skilled at building trust and collaboration among distributed and multicultural teams.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with engineering, data, and business stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to align QA strategy with business goals and technical roadmaps.
• Conflict resolution, accountability, and decision-making skills that promote team growth and delivery excellence.

Required Skills

• Deep experience in test planning, test case design, execution, and reporting.
• Hands-on expertise in automation frameworks and programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python, Java).
• Proven ability to perform functional, web application, and API testing (REST, gRPC, GraphQL).
• Strong background in database testing and data validation (SQL, ETL pipelines).
• Familiarity with data QA principles, ensuring accuracy and integrity across reporting layers and integrations.
• Knowledge of performance testing, interpreting metrics, and identifying improvement areas.
• Proficiency in version control systems (Git, GitHub, GitLab) and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and testing cloud-native applications.
• Solid understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and QA integration in sprint cycles.
• Experience bridging QA processes across web and data domains, fostering collaboration and cross-training opportunities.
• Proven ability to report QA progress, metrics, and quality KPIs to leadership and stakeholders.

Nice to Have skills

• Experience with mobile testing (iOS, Android).
• Exposure to data pipeline testing or validation of BI tools (e.g., Power BI).
• Familiarity with QA metrics dashboards and continuous improvement frameworks.
• Background working with contractor and internal teams in distributed environments.
• Understanding of security and compliance testing in cloud environments.
