Summary
We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer with deep expertise in PHP and Laravel, and solid experience serving as a technical lead. In this role, you will be responsible for building scalable, high-performance backend systems and driving the architectural direction of key projects.
As a senior-level engineer, you bring strong hands-on development skills along with the ability to guide technical decisions, mentor team members, and contribute to strategic planning. You’ll play a critical role in setting engineering standards, solving complex challenges, and fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Professional Experience
- 8+ years of experience building software applications.
- 5+ years of experience working with PHP and Laravel.
- Experience leading engineering teams or acting as Tech Lead on critical projects.
Soft Skills
- Advanced English proficiency (spoken and written).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven ability to mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Open to continuous learning and adopting new technologies.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities in fast-paced environments.
Required Technical Skills
- Proficient in PHP and Laravel, with clean and maintainable coding practices.
- Familiarity with version control tools (Git, GitHub, GitLab).
- Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban).
- Solid understanding of SQL and database design.
- Skilled in developing and consuming APIs (REST, gRPC, GraphQL).
- Experience writing and maintaining unit and integration tests.
- Comfortable working with Docker and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Awareness of security best practices (e.g., OWASP, OAuth).
- Experience in performance tuning, including caching and code optimization.
