Summary
We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer. As part of our team, you will be responsible for
developing scalable, robust, and high-quality solutions. As an engineer, you are a professional with several years of hands-on experience, possessing advanced technical skills and in-depth knowledge. You excel in problem-solving, effective communication, guiding and mentoring other engineers, making critical technical decisions, and contributing to the strategic direction of projects.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and designers to understand requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Design, execute, and maintain comprehensive manual test cases to validate functionality, usability, security, and performance.
- Identify, document, and track bugs and issues using the team’s issue tracking tools (e.g., Jira).
- Participate in sprint ceremonies and provide QA insights during planning and retrospectives.
- Ensure quality standards are met before releases and deployments.
- Identify high-value test cases for automation and create automated test scripts (preferably using Cypress).
- Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline to support continuous testing and faster delivery cycles.
- Work with developers to ensure the testability and maintainability of new features.
- Mentor and lead incoming QA team members, promoting best practices in testing and quality assurance.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
Professional Experience
- 5+ years of experience in Software QA testing.
- 3+ years of experience as a QA Automation Engineer.
- 2+ years in leadership roles.
Required Skills
- Experience in test planning, test case design, execution, and reporting, with a strong emphasis on automated testing.
- Hands-on experience with test automation using Cypress for end-to-end and UI testing.
- Skilled in API testing (REST, gRPC, GraphQL), both manually and using automated tools.
- Proficient in programming languages and frameworks relevant to test automation (preferably .NET and JavaScript/TypeScript for Cypress scripting).
- Strong foundation in manual testing for functionality, security, UI/UX, and usability to complement automation efforts.
- Experience working with relational databases (e.g., SQL) for data validation and test setup.
- Familiar with Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.
- Proficient in version control systems (e.g., Git, GitHub, GitLab).
- Experience integrating test automation into CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions and Jenkins.
Nice to have skills
- Experience working with clients in the retirement industry in the US to be familiar
with some of the key concepts or processes, or experience with financial services. - Experience with Cloud Services, preferably AWS.
- Experience with Performance Testing.
- Experience with Mobile Testing.
- Experience with Data Testing.
